Enway
Rome, Lazio, Italy
Overview
Enway builds autonomous vehicles for cleaning and waste collection, initially focusing on high-precision autonomous sweepers. Its flagship vehicle, the Blitz One, is designed to operate fully autonomously without human intervention in warehouses, industrial sites and parking garages. The company says its technology enables centimetre-accurate movement around objects and curbs, with path algorithms that dynamically react to environmental changes and avoid obstacles. Enway plans outdoor deployments, including a planned street deployment in Singapore next year. The startup emphasizes productivity and lower cleaning costs for indoor and outdoor operations. Investors such as Redalpine Capital, Atlantic Labs, b10 and Moving Capital have backed the company; recently €6 million was invested and an earlier seven-figure sum also flowed into the business. Enway develops a platform that enables autonomous operations of specialty vehicles, powering applications from street sweepers to waste trucks. The platform provides centimeter-precise navigation and path planning optimized for street cleaning. Its technology relies on sensor fusion combining LiDAR, cameras, radar, GNSS, IMU and wheel odometry. Refuse vehicles equipped with the software and additional sensors can follow a garbage man without a driver and use a handheld device or smartphone for manual control. The company will use proceeds from a seven-digit funding round to hire new staff and continue technology development. Enway was co-founded by Julian Nordt, Bo Chen and Thanuja Ambegoda and is based in Berlin, Germany.
