Eocycle Technologies designs and manufactures 25 kW and 90 kW ‘distributed’ wind turbines that connect to the grid to sell excess power and lower customers’ energy costs. Its turbines are targeted primarily at rural sites, farms, and commercial and industrial facilities seeking energy-cost reductions and emissions targets. The company claims a single device could cut energy costs by over $1 million over the life of the turbine and estimates combined U.S. and European market potential at $200 billion. Eocycle plans to use recent financing to expand operations across the U.S. Midwest and Great Plains and into Europe, with sales and deployment targets from Minnesota to Belgium, Scotland and Colorado. The capital will fund a more than 50% increase in staff across sales, production and customer service and ongoing R&D to optimize returns and shorten delivery times. Headquartered in Montréal, the company is positioning to scale manufacturing and deployment to meet growing global demand for distributed renewable generation.
