EON Space Labs is a Hyderabad-based deeptech startup developing miniaturised high-resolution electro-optic and infrared (EO/IR) imaging payloads for satellites, drones, and ground systems. Founded in 2022 and incubated at IIT Madras by Sanjay Kumar, Punit Badeka, and Manoj Kumar Gaddam, the company designs and manufactures EO/IR systems that are up to three times lighter and more compact than conventional payloads. Its flagship products include the MIRA space telescope, currently under validation, and the LUMIRA EO/IR platform, which has been certified to military standards. EON operates a vertically integrated model—from optical design to in-house prototyping and manufacturing—to maintain precision and control across the value chain. The company raised USD 1.2M in a Pre-Series A round led by MGF Kavachh with participation from HHV Advanced Technologies. EON intends to use the funds to scale manufacturing of its AI-driven electro-optical and infrared payloads, expand the engineering team, and support upcoming product launches.
