The company is focused on expanding into enterprise accounts and plans to grow its team with additional sales, marketing staff, and developers to support that effort. CEO Joe Blewitt said recent follow-on growth capital from Deerfield will fund scaling and market penetration. Epion has raised "somewhere north of" $7 million to date and will announce its enterprise customers in the coming weeks; it participated in athenahealth’s More Disruption Please program and the Healthbox accelerator. Epion Health offers an iPad‑based patient engagement platform that digitizes intake by replacing clipboards, pushing patient data into the electronic health record, and enabling payments at check‑in. The product is positioned to improve record accuracy and compliance while making the waiting‑room experience more engaging for patients. The company says its service integrates with provider workflows and has been rolled out through a partnership that makes it available to Athena’s 52,000+ care providers. Epion plans to use new capital to scale its platform into many more waiting rooms across the U.S. and to continue enhancing the product for its growing provider network. Management intends to grow sales and operations teams to support that expansion. The company’s current disclosed financing is a $4.5 million round from Deerfield Management Company.
