Overview
eporta digitizes manufacturer catalogues and provides an online marketplace for interior designers, architects, property developers, offices and other businesses to find and purchase furniture directly from manufacturers. The platform lists over 1,000 sellers across 55 countries and serves over 10,000 buyers in 85 countries. Clients include the Hilton Hotel Group, Accenture, Ted Baker, and Charlotte Tilbury. Buyers can reportedly save up to 50% off retail pricing; the service is free for buyers and suppliers pay a low commission to use the platform. The startup was founded in 2015 by Aneeqa Khan and technical cofounder Simon Shillaker; Khan previously led strategy at Zoopla and helped oversee its £919 million IPO. Khan says eporta’s manufacturer base is the largest global database of manufacturers online for trade and that the service serves both small designers and larger businesses.
