Overview
EPYR is a French climate tech company developing thermal energy storage (TES) solutions for industrial heat decarbonization. Its core product is high-efficiency firebricks that store heat by converting renewable electricity during low-cost periods, paired with AI heat-optimization software. EPYR targets industrial heat demands, which represent about 25% of global energy consumption. The system delivers high-temperature, decarbonized heat while reducing strain on the power grid and enabling electrification of industrial heat processes across sectors. EPYR plans to launch industrial-scale pilots across Europe to demonstrate viability, scalability, and economic value, and to advance and standardise its TES hardware and software. The company raised a €3M pre-seed round co-led by AENU and Daphni, with participation from OVNI Capital, WEPA Ventures and several European business angels. Founders include Bastien Oggeri and Léa Dardenne, and the funding will be used to improve technological maturity, ease of installation, and modularity for industrial facilities.
