Erbi Biosystems is a Woburn, MA-based microfluidic bioprocess instrumentation company focused on supporting therapeutic drug manufacturers. Led by CEO Michael Chiu, PhD, the company launched its first product, the 2mL TruePerfusion™ Breez bioreactor, a microfluidic automated system that delivers concentrated cell density performance for intensified fed-batch and continuous processing. The company's microfluidic sensing and biological liquid handling technology was developed by the founders while at MIT. Erbi intends to use the funds from the recent financing to expand manufacturing, sales, and support of the Breez bioreactor and to further develop its technology platform and product pipeline. The company closed a $3.8M funding round led by Jaguar Biotech.
