Ermetic offers a SaaS cloud infrastructure security platform that combines cloud infrastructure entitlement management (CIEM) and cloud security posture management (CSPM) for AWS, Azure and GCP. The platform detects and prevents security threats across complex multi-cloud environments and enforces least-privilege policies to reduce the attack surface. Since its last round the company has quadrupled in size to more than 100 employees, increased its number of customers by 800% and now protects millions of resources. Ermetic will use the new funding to scale sales and marketing in the US, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and Asia Pacific, and to grow its engineering team. The product is positioned to centralize and automate cloud security management for enterprises that currently rely on disparate, siloed tools. Management says the combination of CIEM and CSPM expands the addressable market and enables the company to capture a larger share of cloud security spending as demand grows. The company intends to use the funds to scale research & development, go-to-market, sales, marketing and customer support initiatives. Following the round, Ermetic has raised more than $27m to date. Ermetic offers an analytics-based platform that automatically discovers human and machine identities in cloud environments and analyzes entitlements, roles and policies to prevent data breaches in IaaS and PaaS. The product provides full-stack visibility across AWS, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure, detects permission gaps, maps and decouples overprivileged relationships, and generates turnkey policy changes to remediate risks. It analyzes access activity to detect privilege escalation, suspicious access and data deletion, integrates with CI/CD and ITSM tools (Slack, Jira, ServiceNow, Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible, Chef and Puppet) and performs benchmark auditing against best practices. Ermetic emerged from stealth and its platform is available immediately. The company recently raised $10M in financing from Glilot Capital Partners, Norwest Venture Partners and Target Global. Ermetic is led by founders Shai Morag, Sivan Krigsman, Arick Goomanovsky and Michael Dolinsky, who previously built enterprise security companies acquired by Microsoft, Palo Alto Networks and others and began their careers in cyber intelligence in the Israel military.
