Eruptive Games is a Vancouver-based developer focused on action-adventure social games and is shortly set to launch Citizen Grim. Citizen Grim is described as an RPG arcade game about a 1945 medical experiment that turns a town’s citizens into “reapers,” with players fighting to survive. The company targets more hardcore players who are more willing to pay for in-game items, rather than casual audiences. Eruptive is working with an unnamed publisher and expects a mobile release in September or October. Its prior title, Mercenaries of War, hit a peak of 1 million players with about 500,000 monthly actives. The company recently picked up $1 million in funding from a group of investors and strategic backers.
