Esaal connects users to over 350 consultants across disciplines such as anxiety, physiotherapy, paediatrics and nutrition through an app that supports text, video/voice calls and in-person visitations. The platform addresses unmet demand for medical consultation in Egypt and the wider MENA region and has launched in eight countries including Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Palestine and Iraq. Users pay via cash, credit cards, Vodafone and Fawry, and the company also operates a B2B2C model with partnerships with more than 10 medium-to-large companies serving 5,000+ employees. Between 2020 and 2021 Esaal’s user base grew 55% and currently stands at over 1 million. The company reported that revenues and ARPU increased 250% to $4.4 million in 2021 and 130% between 2020 and 2021. Esaal currently charges subscription and on-demand consultation fees and plans to monetise in-person visitations in future updates, while aiming to scale further across MENA.
