eSight is a Toronto-based vision-platform organization that develops sight-enhancing electronic glasses for people with vision loss. Its product portfolio includes eSight 3, electronic glasses with enhanced vision technology that are clinically proven to improve sight and help users regain independent mobility. The company says future product innovations for enterprise will combine wearable devices with apps and solutions. eSight is registered with the FDA and EUDAMED and is inspected by Health Canada. On 30 May 2019 it raised $10M in a debenture funding round; the backers were not disclosed. The company will use the funds for new technology development and international expansion; leadership includes CEO Kevin Banderk, CTO Charles Lim, COO/President Gregory Ogorek and Chief Scientific Officer Dr. Brian Mech. eSight Corporation, based in Ottawa, ON, Canada, develops wearable electronic vision devices for people challenged by inoperable degenerative eye diseases. Its first product, evSpex, is designed to modify a patient’s reality in real time and maximize the effectiveness of remaining visual function. The company received a $750,000 investment from First Leaside Visions II Limited Partnership. Proceeds will be used to complete product development, expand the sales and marketing organization, and support marketing activities. eSight anticipates 2010 product revenues and plans to launch evSpex later in the year. After the product launch the company intends to raise additional capital.
