ETF Securities creates and manages exchange traded products, including ETFs, commodity ETCs and currency ETCs, with more than 200 ETPs across equities, currencies and commodities. The firm pioneered ETC listings (Gold Bullion Securities in 2003) and built a global ETC platform listed in 2006. It offers physical, long, forward, leveraged and short exposures, trades in five currencies and is listed on nine major exchanges. ETF Securities has expanded significantly into the U.S., reaching $4 billion in U.S. ETP assets under management. AUM has grown from under $7 billion at the start of 2009 to $27 billion, an increase of $20 billion in a little over two years. Management says it has new products in the pipeline that should continue to drive AUM growth. ETF Securities is a San Francisco-based firm that develops Exchange Traded Commodities (ETCs). Its core product line is commodity-focused ETCs and Commodity Securities, which have been listed on the London Stock Exchange, Deutsche Börse, and Euronext Amsterdam. Following those listings, assets under management doubled since the end of September 2006 to US$285 million, with its latest Commodity Securities growing to over $100 million in under four months. The company received a $10 million equity commitment from FTVentures. FTVentures partner Ben Cukier has been named a new board member. FTVentures highlighted ETF Securities' European brand, product-development expertise, and potential to expand into other asset classes and unique investment strategies.
