Euclid Elements

400 Alabama Street, San Francisco, 94110

Overview

Euclid Elements builds a "Google Analytics for the physical world" that uses preconfigured in-store sensors plugged into a store’s network switch to listen for and hash customers’ phones’ Wi‑Fi MAC addresses. The system maps foot patterns, dwell time, window-conversion rates, loyalty and retention and presents data in an online dashboard (with a roughly 12-hour data delay). The company says the sensors do not store personally identifiable information and offers opt-out signage for customers. Euclid has a 15-person team with engineers from Google Analytics/Urchin and other firms, and has been in private beta with Bay Area retailers including Philz Coffee. The analytics service is sold by subscription at $200 per sensor per month; one sensor covers about 1.3 zones. The company emerged from stealth and is Palo Alto–based; current priorities include improving the dashboard interface and expanding availability to U.S. merchants.
