Evari builds ultra-fast turbocompressors and heat pumps that borrow technology from rocket and satellite turbomachinery to operate efficiently across wide temperature differentials. Its systems are oil-free, can use low-global-warming-potential refrigerants like propane, and the compressors are materially small, nearly silent, and vibration free. The company says its designs use far less copper and rare earth materials than conventional compressors, trading higher manufacturing complexity for lower material cost and supply-chain resilience. Evari is targeting transportation first, with an eventual aim at very cold-climate home heating and other industrial cooling/heating applications. The startup emerged from stealth and has resolved much of its technical risk prior to this fundraise, according to the company. Financially, Evari announced a $7.5 million seed round and the founder previously funded early development out of pocket from proceeds of a prior startup exit.
