Eved is a Chicago, IL-based event commerce company that provides a collaborative procurement platform and marketplace for events. Its platform integrates with existing systems to streamline payment, enforce compliance, and capture event spend data. The company is led by Talia Mashiach, CEO, Founder & Product Architect, and serves clients and partners including Dell, Eli Lilly and Company, and BCD Meetings & Events. In December 2015 Eved raised $14.3m to accelerate sales, support its clients and partners, and increase hiring. The round was led by Huizenga Capital Management with participation from MK Capital, Pritzker Group Venture Capital and Merrick Ventures. In conjunction with the funding, Sean Chou (former CTO for Fieldglass) and David Bradley (The Huizenga family) joined Eved’s Board of Directors. Founded in 2010 and based in Chicago, Eved operates an online marketplace for the meeting and events industry. Its proprietary platform offers sourcing, marketing and e-commerce tools that let buyers find suppliers, send and track RFPs, and manage supplier networks. Suppliers can use Eved to expand their businesses online, meet buyer demand for lower pricing, and maintain margins; companies can also buy directly from suppliers and track purchases via e-invoices. The company targets the $263 billion meeting and event industry and now has over 2,500 users across organizations, third-party meeting and incentive companies, event planners, destination management companies, hotels, venues and suppliers. Partners say the platform reduces manual labor and can lower costs—New World Ventures' Matt McCall estimates savings of as much as 25%. Eved plans to use new funding to scale and expand its proprietary platform.
