EVEN is a creative platform that lets artists sell music and offer exclusive content and experiences directly to fans, positioning itself as a first stop before releases hit streaming services. The product is built on blockchain to provide greater transparency for transactions and currently operates in beta as a free, ad-free service. EVEN generates revenue by charging transaction fees and plans to use its new seed funding for hiring and business growth. Founder and CEO Mag Rodriguez began building the platform last February to help Black and brown artists retain equity and receive proper credit and compensation. The company plans partnerships with artists such as French Montana and is experimenting with features like in-app chat to enable artist-fan communication. EVEN hopes to launch later this year with more than 600 artists and currently has a waitlist topping 4,000 creators.
