Founded in 2023 by ex-Apple engineers and headquartered in Shenzhen, Even Realities develops display-first smart glasses that use an integrated heads-up display and a companion ring controller. Its early products include the G1 (launched 2024) and the flagship G2 (released November) which omits a camera and emphasizes a privacy-first experience. The company developed proprietary optical technology called Even HAO (Holistic Adaptive Optics) to integrate microchips, waveguides and prescription support. Even exceeded its initial 10,000-unit sales target to become the first in the category to sell more than 10,000 pairs, and reports more than half of users are in the U.S. Frames retail at $599 before tax, with prescription lenses or the ring bringing average orders to about $1,000. The startup expanded staff from a few dozen in 2024 to several hundred and said it is profitable while continuing to invest heavily in optics and product development.
