Eventbase Technology provides a mobile event technology platform and has launched an enterprise event data product, Eventbase Data Stream, that gathers data across every conference and meeting hosted within an Enterprise Event App. The Data Stream product supplies business intelligence tools and marketing systems to generate customer insights that drive sales and to uncover event ROI, attendee needs, pain points and app experience. The company raised more than $6.5M in a follow-on financing to accelerate growth and support the launch of Data Stream, bringing total funding to about $14.5M. The round was backed by existing investor Madrona Venture Group and new investor BC Tech Fund, managed by Kensington Capital Partners; additional financing was provided by Silicon Valley Bank and Espresso Capital. Founded in 2009 by CEO Jeff Sinclair and CPO Ben West and based in Vancouver, Eventbase serves a broad set of customers. Its client list includes IBM, Cisco, Microsoft, TD Ameritrade, Century 21, SXSW, CES, Comic-Con, Sundance Film Festival and three Olympic Games. Eventbase Technology provides a mobile technology platform for premium events and delivers bespoke apps for trade shows and consumer events. Led by CEO and co‑founder Jeff Sinclair, the company has built apps for events including NAB Show, RSNA, the last three Olympic Games, Comic‑Con International and the Sundance Film Festival. Clients named in the article include Microsoft, SAP, HP, Cisco, Salesforce, Cannes Lions and SXSW. The company also maintains an office in London, UK. Eventbase reports over 10 million app downloads across thousands of events worldwide. It raised $6m and intends to use the funds to further accelerate growth. Eventbase builds mobile event guide apps for conferences and festivals and has produced SXSW’s official SXSW Go app for the last five years. The company has built guides for three Olympic games, several Comic-Cons, Cannes Lions, the Sundance Film Festival, ESPN, Disney and Lollapalooza. It was bootstrapped and has reportedly been profitable since nearly inception. Revenues are expected to be about $4 million this year and are slated to nearly double next year. The company plans to use new funding to build iBeacon indoor location features and stronger dashboard analytics for brands. Eventbase is also making strides into trade shows and has identified events like CES as potential future clients.
