Eventblimp offers an iPhone app that aggregates event listings from multiple sources (Facebook, Eventbrite, SeatGeek, Bandsintown, Eventful, Meetup) into a single map or scrollable list interface. The app includes a Facebook integration that surfaces events friends are attending and category filters for concerts, nightlife, professional/networking and more. The team has indexed roughly 20 million events so far and expects the index could reach 100 million events by year-end. Product roadmaps include improved filtering using natural language processing to categorize uncategorized events, an Android app (stated as a “huge priority”), and a web service that is already live. For monetization, Eventblimp plans to offer paid “sponsored events” with distinct map pins to event promoters. The company is led by founder and CEO Chris Good, who previously worked at private equity firm Grey Mountain Partners. Financially, Eventblimp is at pre-seed stage with under $200,000 invested to date.
