Everdrop
Isarwinkel 4, Munich, Bavaria, 81379, Germany
Overview
Everdrop sells household cleaning and body-care products in tablet form that are dissolved in water to avoid single-use plastic and reduce transport emissions by up to 95%. Launched in early 2020 and based in Munich, the company markets about 40 products and has a footprint in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and France. Everdrop reports six-digit subscription numbers and recorded 300% year-on-year growth in 2021. The company has set up its own R&D laboratory and says the investment will fund three growth pillars: extending the product portfolio, becoming an omnichannel brand, and pursuing an international patent. Everdrop has faced product criticism in the past but disputes those claims and cites a positive ÖKO Test. It also acknowledges rising competition in the sustainable refill category and the challenge of building an enduring brand as it scales. everdrop makes dissolvable cleaning tablets that are mixed with tap water to create cleaning sprays, eliminating the need to ship water and reducing single-use plastic bottles. The company also sells microplastic-free laundry detergents tailored to local water hardness, which it says can cut unnecessary surfactants by up to 50%, and a “naked” dishwasher tablet without plastic wrappers. Launched in December 2019 and based in Munich, everdrop has built notable consumer traction (about 110,000 Instagram followers) and estimates it has eliminated more than 2.5 million single-use plastic bottles and saved roughly 250 tons of unnecessary surfactants. The startup highlights a proprietary water hardness calculator and individualized detergent formats as key product differentiators. Everdrop competes with brands such as Grove Collaborative, Blueland and The Honest Company. It plans to develop a wider range of sustainable household products and expand marketing across Europe and, eventually, the U.S.
