Overview

Everpurse is a Chicago-based fashion-technology company founded by Liz and Dan Salcedo that launched a clutch wallet which doubles as a smartphone holder and charger. The company spent time in Shenzhen’s HAXLR8R hardware accelerator to build manufacturing connections to complement its U.S. and European fashion network. It currently sells the charging wallet for $129 and is positioning its branded accessories as proof-of-concept technology for larger fashion houses. Everpurse plans to develop next-generation embedded electronics using a flexible chipset with Bluetooth, a CPU, and an RFID beacon to track purses, cosmetics inside bags, and detect counterfeits. The founders and investors view charging as a first step in a broader roadmap of wearable features to integrate into purses, wallets, and other accessories. Management expects to start offering the embedded technology to smaller fashion houses in the coming months, with products possibly appearing on store shelves within a few years.
