Evolution Devices

1111 Broadway Floor 3, Oakland, CA, 94607, United States

Overview

Evolution Devices builds the EvoWalk, an AI‑informed remote physical‑therapy platform paired with a connected, below‑knee functional electrical stimulation (FES) wearable that stimulates nerves to help people with neurologic impairments lift their foot and walk more freely. The device's built‑in sensors feed real‑time motion data to machine‑learning algorithms and to patient and clinician apps, enabling personalized stimulation and data‑driven adjustments to therapy. Early pilot studies and an ongoing UCSF clinical study reported up to a tenfold increase in walking activity and improved walking speed in as little as eight weeks. The company is launching a pilot program focused on neurologically based partial walking paralysis and matches patients with certified neurologic physical therapists via a HIPAA‑compliant telehealth workflow. Evolution Devices has raised more than $1M from investors including the Alchemist Accelerator and Bill Cohen and has won grants from the Toyota Mobility Foundation, Bristol Myers Squibb, Lyfebulb, the National Science Foundation and the National Institutes of Health. It is currently raising additional funds via crowdfunding while pursuing FDA clearance and aiming for a product launch in the second quarter of next year.
