Overview
EVPassport builds app-less EV charging stations that let drivers start charging via a QR code integrated with digital wallets or by using a credit card. The company offers charging infrastructure-as-a-service, supplying hardware, software, firmware and connectivity while installing, operating and maintaining chargers for customers. Since launching in 2020, EVPassport has deployed 5,000 chargers across 35 U.S. states as well as Canada and Mexico. It plans to deploy another 1,000 DC chargers and 10,000 Level 2 chargers over the next two years, prioritizing California, Texas, Florida, Chicago and the northeast corridor. Each DC charger will include a Tesla NACS plug and a CCS plug, and the company committed to a charging hub at Viejas Casino and Resort with more than 400 plugs. EVPassport’s customers include Viejas Casino and Resort, National Development, Ace Parking, Nuveen and Millennium Park Garages. The business runs on subscription contracts (average length ~10 years) with a roughly 50% revenue share for partners, and pricing examples include Level 2 “as little as your Netflix subscription” and DC fast charging around $1,000 per month.
