Overview
Evroc is building a developer-friendly hyperscale cloud and accompanying data-center footprint across Europe, with a stated focus on AI workloads and digital sovereignty. The company currently operates two co-location facilities in Stockholm and two in Paris, expects two facilities in Frankfurt by Q2 end, and is constructing flagship data centers in Sweden and France slated for completion in 2026. Its product strategy emphasizes a full software stack for cloud services and high-energy-density infrastructure (liquid cooling, high rack power) designed for AI. Evroc says it has 60+ employees concentrated on software development across Sweden, France and the U.K., and is already working with early beta customers in defense, public sector, health care and financial services. The company launched in 2023 and has previously raised capital from an initial stealth round; the recent financing is intended to accelerate building the software stack and support further data-center expansion. Founded in 2022 by Mattias Åström, Evroc is launching out of stealth to build fully localized, hyperscale data centers and a sovereign cloud for European customers. Its product strategy combines large-scale physical data centers (hyperscale defined as at least 100,000 servers per site) with software to store and manage data at scale. The company plans an inaugural pilot data center in the Stockholm region, with the first site slated for 2025, and aims for eight data centers and three software development hubs by 2028. Evroc says its development and R&D hubs will be a major differentiator and plans to hire roughly 3,000 people across those hubs. To minimize power impact it will offer next-generation energy-efficiency measures, including an opt-in “eco load balancing” that routes workloads to where renewable energy is most available. Financially, Evroc has received a €13 million cash injection and is preparing a much larger capital program to execute its buildout.
