Overview

Exabeam builds cloud security analytics and detection products (UEBA, XDR and SIEM) to help organizations detect advanced cybersecurity threats. The company says it will use new funding to scale, triple down on R&D, and extend its leadership as a cloud SecOps platform, aiming to be the “number one trusted cloud SeCops platform in the market.” Exabeam has invested heavily in its partner program, which now includes more than 400 reseller, distributor, systems integrator, MSSP, MDR and consulting partners globally. It also reports more than 500 technology integrations with cloud, network, data lake and endpoint vendors, including CrowdStrike, Okta and Snowflake. Nir Polak co‑founded Exabeam in 2013 and will remain at the company in a chairman role after the recent leadership change. Following the financing the company has raised $390M in six rounds and is valued at $2.4 billion. Exabeam builds the Exabeam Security Management Platform, a Smarter SIEM that uses behavioral analytics and machine-learning Smart Timelines to collect unlimited log data, detect attacks, and automate incident response on-premises or in the cloud. The company has shifted from a UEBA vendor to a leading SIEM provider and was named a leader in the 2018 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Security Information and Event Management. Its platform and flat, user-based pricing have driven displacement of legacy vendors: in the last fiscal year 76% of its replacement deals eliminated incumbents and Exabeam reports a 72% win rate in replacement deals. Average deal size has grown 100% over two years, and Exabeam has seen increased sales of its Exabeam SaaS Cloud since launch earlier this year. The company has expanded its sales team and Technology Alliance Partnership Program, which includes more than 350 software and services vendors and integrations with nearly 2,500 unique data sources and APIs. Exabeam plans to use new funding to expand sales reach and accelerate product features and configurations to further penetrate large enterprise SOC environments. Exabeam’s core product is the Security Intelligence Platform (SIP), built on open-source big-data technologies including Elasticsearch and Hadoop, that provides unlimited secure data collection, indexing and search without volume-based pricing. The platform layers advanced machine learning for threat identification, incident response and threat hunting, and emphasizes a flat, predictable pricing model that avoids “by-the-byte” limits. Exabeam says customers prefer its superior threat identification and response capabilities and cites replacement wins with enterprises such as ADP, Hulu, Safeway and Union Bank. The company reported rapid growth—300% in 2016 and 250% in 2017—and was on track to more than double its market size in 2018. SIP received industry recognition, including 2018 Gartner Peer Insights Customers’ Choice for SIEM and an SC Awards Europe 2018 for Best SIEM. Exabeam is headquartered in San Mateo, California. Exabeam provides an analytics-led security intelligence platform for data collection, threat detection, and automated incident response. The platform targets the Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) market. It serves global customers in financial services, retail, energy, healthcare, and government industries. Led by co-founder and CEO Nir Polak and based in San Mateo, Calif., the company intends to expand operations and grow its business in the multi-billion dollar SIEM market. In July 2017 Exabeam raised $30M in Series C funding to support that expansion. The round was led by Lightspeed Venture Partners and Cisco Investments, with participation from Norwest Venture Partners, Aspect Ventures, Icon Ventures and Shlomo Kramer. Exabeam builds user behavior analytics (UBA) software that leverages existing log data and machine learning to detect, prioritize and guide response to advanced attacks. Its Stateful User Tracking automates correlation of security events into a complete attack chain, reducing analyst response time. Exabeam Version 2.0 adds automatic analysis of account lockouts to assess risk and cut time spent on manual investigations. The company reports its appliances are monitoring more than 1 million employees and contractors for compromised activity. Exabeam plans to continue product development, expand domestically and drive international growth, and work with security operations centers to automate tasks. The company is headquartered in San Mateo, California.
