Eximo Medical has developed Cathi™, a patented hybrid catheter connected to a compact pulsed 355nm UV laser system. The catheter’s tip combines laser ablation with a mechanical blunt blade to improve accuracy and enable precise crossing of vessel blockages regardless of lesion type or vessel size. The company says the technology has the potential to optimize safety and reduce the risk of vessel perforation. Its initial catheters are designed to offer solutions for different blockage pathologies during atherectomy procedures in patients with peripheral artery disease (PAD). Eximo plans first‑in‑human clinical trials in Europe and Israel in Q4 of this year to test performance in treating PAD. The product pipeline also includes solutions for lead extraction and, at a later stage, catheters for interventional gastrointestinal procedures.
