Expliseat designs and manufactures ultralight aircraft seats using carbon, composite and aluminum materials. After nearly facing liquidation during the COVID-19 crisis, the company built an industrial plant in Avrillé and repositioned itself as an ETI-level industrial player. The Avrillé factory has ramped up production to as many as 600 seats per week and employed up to 250 people at peak in 2025, while the company's head office remains in Paris. Expliseat has secured commercial traction, notably signing contracts with two of the four major U.S. airlines. Financially, the company completed a €36 million equity raise that brings impact investor Alter Equity into its capital and is intended to support large-scale commercial deployment and further industrialization.
