Explora Project organizes guided adventure expeditions across Europe through a technology platform that combines features of a travel agency, tour operator and local guide. The company emphasizes low-carbon transport, reconnecting travelers with nature, off-the-beaten-track routes, and sustainable practices such as organic local food. Founded in 2018 and commercially launched in June 2019, the Annecy-based team of 12 has run 80 expeditions in 12 countries with nearly 500 participants. Explora has built an online community of 10,000 active members and has been supported by the 50 Partners accelerator since January 2020. It plans to focus growth on French and European markets and to stretch toward zero-waste travel. The company raised €1.7 million to support those efforts.
