Eyedentity, founded in 2025 and based in Stockholm, is developing an AI diagnostics platform that analyses fundus images taken during routine eye exams to detect serious eye diseases. Its first clinical application targets uveal melanoma, a rare but potentially deadly intraocular cancer, and the company says its system can reduce false-positive referrals by 90%. Eyedentity is running a live pilot with Synologen, a network of independent opticians in Sweden, and aims to integrate with medical record systems to minimise workflow friction for opticians. The founders combine clinical and technical expertise, including an ocular oncologist from St. Erik Eye Hospital and a machine learning engineer with prior experience at RaySearch Laboratories. The company plans to expand its platform to other eye diseases such as diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma and pursue commercialisation in the Nordics before scaling across Europe and the US.
