EzDubs builds a consumer-facing communication app that provides real-time translation for calls, voice messages, text and video, with the other party not required to have the app. The product rests on two core models: a voice-cloning model that preserves emotional tone and a translation model that handles interruptions and begins translating internally without waiting for sentence completion. The company first launched a Twitter/X dubbing bot in January 2023 (340,000 followers, >500 dub requests per day, translated videos >1M daily views) and a WhatsApp bot in July 2023 before releasing an early app version this year on iOS and Android. Users reportedly place hundreds of calls per day with an average call time of 17 minutes, with common use cases including cross-cultural dating and professionals communicating while abroad. Planned features include QR-code-initiated calls that don’t require app downloads, becoming a default phone calling app to handle incoming calls, and browser/meeting extensions for Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Slack.
