ezza nails is a manicure startup founded in Chicago in 2017 by Ale Breuer (CEO) and Kim Marsh (COO). The company offers an ethical nail care experience with trained and friendly staff, a high-tech cashless environment, affordable memberships, early morning hours, and online booking that lets guests select polish colors in advance. Ezza won $75,000 in the University of Chicago Booth School of Business New Venture Challenge in 2017 and participated in the Pritzker Summer Accelerator program. The company closed a $1.5M seed round. Named backers include Matt McCall, a partner at the Pritzker Group, and Linnea Roberts of GingerBread Capital. Ezza is opening a second Chicago location in May, has a third location in the works, and plans to pursue a Series A in early 2020.
