FA Match operates a digital-hybrid recruiting platform whose proprietary Advisor MatchTM technology ranks advisor–firm fits based on criteria such as AUM, transition needs, location, experience, and firm type. The platform notifies only the most viable matches to streamline the recruitment process and reduce friction for both advisors and firms. FA Match charges firms a $200 monthly membership and a flat $10,000 success fee per placement, while the service is free for advisors. As of December 2020 the platform had facilitated 1,055 connection requests; the average AUM of advisors active on the platform is $72.5M and the average AUM of firms is $7.6B. The company plans to allocate recent funding to expanded marketing and to launch more advanced industry analytic features in 2021 showing real-time trends in compensation and M&A movement. Ryan Shanks is co-founder and CEO, and the company added industry veteran Jim Roth (former BNY Mellon | Pershing MD) to its advisory board.
