Fabby

8 Kirova St Ofc 40, Minsk, 220030, Belarus

Overview

Fabby’s core product is an app that locates a person in a photo or video and processes only the background, enabling background replacement and bokeh effects using neural networks on modern smartphones. The technology works for photos and selfie videos (supported on iPhone 6 and up) and Fabby claims it can surpass the iPhone 7’s bokeh capability. The app is currently available on iOS and an Android release is planned within the next few months. Future product plans include support for 360-degree videos and the ability to add personalized video backgrounds. Fabby was founded in summer 2016 and was co-founded by Yuri Melnichek (founder of Maps.me). The company recently received a $2M seed round to “supercharge” its background-separation technology, and on December 22 the app was named Editor’s Choice in several countries’ App Stores, including Russia.
