Factorial Energy
19 Presidential Way, Suite 103, Woburn, Massachusetts, 01801, United States
Overview
Factorial Energy develops solid-state batteries using its proprietary FEST™ (Factorial Electrolyte System Technology) solid electrolyte, which the company says enables safe, room-temperature operation and scalability in large-format cells. The company reached a 40 Amp-hour solid-state cell benchmark and claims up to 50% greater driving range versus current lithium‑ion technology, while retaining drop-in compatibility with existing lithium‑ion manufacturing equipment. Factorial is building a pilot production facility in the New England area to scale large-format cell output and produce batteries for customer testing; construction was scheduled to start in early 2022. The company has joint development agreements and strategic investments with major automakers, including Mercedes‑Benz, Stellantis, Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Corporation, to commercialize its technology. CEO Siyu Huang said the new funding will support R&D, team growth and investments in manufacturing to drive commercial production.
