Factorli aims to be a go-to facility for hardware startups to prototype and produce small runs of products, offering end-to-end services spanning prototyping, manufacturing, sales/distribution, logistics, and customer service. The company is positioning itself to serve startups that need runs below roughly 25,000 units. Founder and CEO Jen McCabe developed the concept while working with the Vegas Tech Fund, which she says made 21 hardware investments during that period. Factorli is based on brownfield land near Downtown Las Vegas and plans to blend engineers, machinists, and machines using ideas like burst and cellular manufacturing. The business is still being built out—systems and machinery details remain in progress—and the team aimed to have customers in the building by CES in January 2015. The company has already received product interest from the Vegas Tech Fund portfolio, including orders for a few Stir kinetic desks.
