Factory
Rheinsberger Str. 76/77, Berlin, 10115, Germany
Overview
Factory operates large co‑working tech campuses and converted the former Oswalder Brauerei building in Berlin into a startup hub. Its second 75,000 sq ft campus, dubbed Silicon Allee, hosts tenants such as Stripe, Drivy, The Family, Here, Zenloop, Progedo, Klara, Point Nine Capital and ResearchGate, and includes an organic supermarket, a bar called “R&D”, three event spaces and 16 apartments. The team is scaling beyond Germany and has established an office and small team in Lisbon to build a substantial next project. Factory announced a €1M funding round to support its continental expansion. Lead investors in the round are Round Hill Capital, 500 Startups and Elkstone Capital, alongside angel backers including Christian Reber, Matthias Ummenhofer, Florian Moerth, Moritz Sell and the founders of Makers and Adjust. Travis Todd will be CEO of the new campus after Factory acquired the Silicon Allee community in early 2016; the company previously sold assets and contracts associated with ‘Factory Berlin’ and licensed the Factory brand for Germany to s+p real estate in mid‑2015.
