Falcomm
1375 Peachtree St NE, Atlanta, GA, 30309, United States
Overview
Falcomm develops a new power-amplifier architecture that enables simultaneous signal transmission at different transistor terminals, lowering the transistor knee voltage. The approach yields efficiency levels above 50% at 28 GHz versus competitors’ typical 25–35% at that band. Its technology targets satellites, wireless infrastructure manufacturers, Wi‑Fi OEMs and consumer products such as smartphones and IoT devices. Falcomm is a fabless chip company and can monetize via direct semiconductor sales or by licensing its technology to manufacturers. The company spun out of Georgia Institute of Technology and was part of TechCrunch Disrupt’s Startup Battlefield 200 in 2023; Georgia Tech had previously spent $5–6M supporting the technology’s development. The startup plans to use fresh funding to hire engineering talent as it scales development and commercialization.
