Family.cards builds a television-connected card system that lets seniors access digital services via an intuitive card reader and simple interface. The product enables video calls, photo and video sharing, music and audiobooks, age-appropriate exercises and other third-party apps through a family.cards card-store. The company says its solution addresses the inability of many older adults to use touchscreens due to cognitive, physical, or psychological decline. Family.cards was founded in 2022 after the co-founders met during the Antler residency in Berlin. The startup has secured pre-orders and run pilot projects that the team says demonstrate strong demand. The recent funding will support further technology development, onboarding third-party apps, team growth and expansion across Germany and Europe.
