FireGen Biomedicals develops core nucleic-acid testing technologies including instruments, chips, extraction systems, PCR devices and integrated sample-to-result solutions. The company emphasizes independent R&D across four foundational domains—nucleic acid, chips, mechanical engineering and software—and has accumulated over a hundred pieces of intellectual property. Its products aim to fully replace imported high-tech components and to bring rapid nucleic acid testing into grassroots medical systems, with current distribution in more than 30 countries including the U.S. and EU. FireGen operates a large GMP facility in Kunshan, Suzhou with P2, PCR, POCT and microbiology labs and single-facility output value of approximately RMB 500–700 million; the plant meets CFDA, U.S. FDA and EU CE registration and production requirements. The company was founded nearly six years ago, is based in Haidian, Zhongguancun (Beijing), and maintains an innovation center with the Chinese Academy of Sciences and deep partnerships with leading hospitals for product translation. Future plans described by management include expanding the joint innovation center with the CAS, deepening collaboration with Peking University People’s Hospital on urine tumor early screening and POCT platforms, and pursuing supply-chain M&A to extend manufacturing and distribution capabilities.
