Farcana is a Web3 third-person multiplayer shooter set in a near-future storyline where humanity relocates to Mars. Gameplay centers on a substance called “Acceler” that grants superhuman abilities and the title features competitive tournaments named Farcana, with gameplay likened to Overwatch and Valorant. The game will be free-to-play and incorporate play-to-earn mechanics, battle passes, NFTs, crafting, and Bitcoin rewards for outstanding players. All in-game items — from skins and pets to voice lines and charms — will exist as NFTs, and the ecosystem will use FAR tokens for transactions. Farcana plans to mint NFTs on the Polygon network and support free Bitcoin ordinals; a “Mars Enigma Vault” NFT is scheduled for release on December 19th. The project is presented as part of Animoca Brands’ push to expand Web3 in the MENA region and to entrench blockchain technology in mainstream gaming.
