Farmtheory acquires irregularly shaped or sized "freeform" produce directly from farmers and supplies it to cloud kitchens, catering companies, food processors and restaurants. The company aims to minimize food waste at source, boost farm yields, and deliver quality ingredients to commercial buyers. Since its inception in 2019, Farmtheory has onboarded 3,000 partner farmers and served over 1,500 kitchens. The startup is Y Combinator–backed and positions itself as a leader in India’s "freeform produce" movement. Farmtheory plans to scale its supply arm, enhance its technological infrastructure, and bolster its supply chain by reaching more farmers to create a more robust and sustainable source of produce.
