Overview

Founded in 2023 by Northern Ireland natives and fourth-generation farmers-turned-software-engineers Gareth McDonald (CEO) and Gareth Gordon (CTO), farmdrive replaces paper-heavy cattle compliance tasks with a mobile app and an enterprise dashboard. Its farming app is already used by more than 1,000 beef and dairy farms across the UK and Ireland, collectively tracking over 150,000 cattle and saving farmers at least six hours per week on record-keeping. The companion product, ‘farmdrive enterprise’, gives meat processors and retailers real-time traceability, 12-month supply forecasting, medication monitoring, and sustainability reporting; customers such as ABP Linden and Foyle Meats report saving 20 hours per week on paperwork. The platform is recognised by DAERA NI, EID Scotland, and AIM Ireland for compliance. Fresh capital will fund continued product development, geographic expansion across the UK and Europe, and new hires in engineering, data, marketing, customer success, and enterprise account management. The founders aim to make farmdrive the global single source of truth for livestock data and an essential infrastructure layer for transparent, resilient food supply chains.
