FCTRY LAb is a Los Angeles-based footwear prototyping lab co-founded by former Yeezy‑Adidas Innovation Lab head Omar Bailey and former Wall Street executive Abhishek Som. The lab offers end-to-end prototyping and development services to bridge conceptual designs to physically wearable footwear and produce factory-ready specifications. FCTRY LAb says it can shorten the industry standard 8–12 month timeline to one to three months for bringing a sneaker into production. The company plans to build independent brands within its company, empower creators with larger ownership stakes than typical royalties, and partner with athletes and celebrities. It raised $6 million to build out the lab, purchase technology such as 3D printers, and continue growing the team. Bailey previously ran a domestic facility for Yeezy to speed samples and prototypes to market and led adidas's Innovation Lab for three years.
