Fe3 Medical is developing a transdermal patch that delivers iron across the skin to treat patients with iron-deficiency anemia. The patch is intended as an alternative to oral iron for nearly half of patients who cannot tolerate gastrointestinal side effects such as constipation, diarrhea, nausea and bloating. Led by CEO Mark Sieczkarek, the company relocated from InCube’s Silicon Valley lab to InCube’s San Antonio, TX facility. Fe3 is working on product development, clinical trials and regulatory submissions aimed at obtaining CE Mark and FDA approval for the patch. The company’s Series B has been extended, bringing additional capital to support those development and regulatory efforts.
