Overview
Feasibly is a greentech startup founded at Durham University that has built an AI-native geospatial engine to replace the slow, manual workflows used to select sites for renewable-energy projects. Using a natural-language interface, developers can query land parcels and instantly receive suitability results, cutting a process that typically takes months down to seconds. The software automatically checks constraints such as protected land and grid proximity, tackling a bottleneck that sees more than 80 % of UK renewable projects fail in planning and wastes an estimated £1.2 billion each year. The company is already running trials with UK energy developers. Fresh capital will be used to double the engineering team and launch the product commercially. Founded by Beth Holloway and Leo Thomson, Feasibly frames its mission as removing practical barriers to clean-energy deployment rather than building technology for its own sake. Including two Innovate UK R&D grants, the startup has now secured more than £500,000 in total funding.
