Feldera
Foster City, CA, United States
Overview
Feldera develops a Continuous Analytics Platform that incrementally evaluates arbitrary SQL programs over data in motion, offering a compiler (built on Apache Calcite), a Rust execution engine, a containerized runtime, JIT compilation, distributed design, and multi-tenant isolation. The product targets developer workflows with standard SQL as the initial query language, a git-style change control process, and an interactive UI for building continuous analytics. Feldera plans a paid Bring-Your-Own-Cloud (BYOC) service that runs in developer-owned Kubernetes environments while keeping the core platform free and open-source under the MIT License. The team traces its technical roots to work on Differential Datalog beginning in 2018, the invention of DBSP (a streaming algebra) in 2022, and library deployments across thousands of customers in VMware Skyline’s cloud service. Recent engineering activity includes a v0.26 release with over 200 commits and roughly 25,000 lines of new code and documentation, and a Developer Preview is available for download. The company has announced a $6M seed to accelerate product and engineering work.
