Ferfics develops high‑tech microchips for radio frequency applications (cellular, WLAN, WiMax and TV) designed to improve battery life in mobile phones and wireless devices. The company targets leading international wireless device manufacturers such as Nokia, Apple, Samsung and Motorola. Founded in 2007 and based in Cork, Ireland, Ferfics says its technology is attractive to phone makers worldwide. The company raised €1.7M in equity funding to finance next steps. Ferfics intends to use the funds to commence full production and bring its products to market. Management expects the financing will support the creation of up to 30 knowledge‑based high‑technology jobs in Cork.
