Fetch’s core product is a marketplace and app that lets users find nearby trucks or vans, reserve them, and unlock the vehicle from their phone using Fetch’s hardware. The marketplace includes vehicles owned by Fetch as well as third-party fleet operators and individuals who install Fetch’s hardware to enable phone unlocking. Renters must carry their own insurance; Fetch provides secondary insurance to augment those policies. The company says it has “hundreds of trucks live on the marketplace,” with about half currently in the Atlanta area, and that it has achieved profitability on a per-rental basis. Fetch has partnered with Home Depot to power the retailer’s rental process in select areas and currently charges variable pricing (for example, a 6' pickup in Atlanta listed at $19/hour or $70/day with 50 miles included). The team is 12 people now and plans to double headcount in the next three months while expanding into roughly 12 more cities by the end of the year.
