Fiction Express provides an interactive reading platform that connects school-age children and adolescents with professional authors to drive reading comprehension via co-creation and author-student dialogue. The tool was launched in September 2017 in England and was born inside Boolino. To date it has delivered readings to thousands of students across 20 countries in Europe, Latin America and Asia and has closed three institutional agreements, including a pilot of 40 schools with the Junta de Castilla y León. The company closed a new funding round of more than €600,000 to finance the first phase of its five-year strategic plan, which prioritises strengthening its commercial structure and scaling the product in Spain. Its second-phase plan aims to expand into new countries with a stated target of reaching over 10 million pupils in 50 countries by 2025. In response to COVID-19 school closures, Fiction Express opened the platform free for three months in English, Spanish and Catalan. The company has also received multiple industry recognitions, including BETT Awards and other education prizes.
