FIDEL API
2nd and 3rd floors 25 Kingly St, London, W1B 5QB, United Kingdom
Overview
Fidel API offers identity, data and payments products that let developers capture consent permissions and securely connect payment cards to services via a modern API. Its tools power features such as digital receipts, omnichannel attribution, loyalty and rewards, expense management and personal finance management. Customers number in the hundreds and include Google, Royal Bank of Canada and British Airways; the platform is powering services for "tens of millions" of cardholders and "hundreds of thousands" of merchants globally. Since launching in 2018, Fidel says it has tripled its growth metrics and quadrupled its card base year‑over‑year; the CEO declined to disclose hard revenue figures. The company is headquartered in London with offices in Lisbon and New York and currently has 130 employees. It plans to use new capital to double headcount (with emphasis on engineering, sales and product) and to invest in identity verification, consent management and payments capabilities. Fidel offers a suite of APIs that let developers link users’ payment cards to apps, enabling real-time, card-network data access and features like loyalty, digital receipts, PFM/expense management and online-to-offline attribution. The platform provides a single point of integration across Mastercard, Visa and American Express and tokenises card numbers to reduce regulatory and compliance burden for customers. Loyalty is Fidel’s primary use case, with customers able to automatically award points or cash back when linked cards are used; the British Airways Executive Club app is cited as an example. Fidel emphasizes that card-network data is real-time and granular (including location), which it positions as complementary to — and in many cases higher quality than — Open Banking data. The company is led by co-founder and CEO Subrata Dev and recently raised funding to support growth. The new capital will be used to expand the team, accelerate product development and pursue international ambitions in North America, the Nordics and APAC.
